HISTORY OF PAGE WIRE ROPE & SLINGS, INC. – 1965 – 2008
A.B. Page, Sr. (better known as “Blackie”) started “A. B. Page, Inc.” in 1965 in his backyard. “A.B.Page, Inc.” started as a small rigging shop with sales of hand-spliced slings, spools of Union Wire Rope cable, splicing and spooling of sand lines on swab trucks. This small backyard shop was the beginning of what is now known as “Page Wire Rope and Slings, Inc.”
Four generations later, A.B. Page, Sr. (deceased), Henry Page (retired), Don Page (Vice-Pres), Kevin Page (Office Manager), and Jacob Page (Office), Kathy Page Laviolette (Treasurer), and Carol Page (Inventory), the company is still all about family working together.
There have been four expanded additions to the original Page Wire Rope & Slings at 101 Gallier since A.B. Page, Sr. There has been purchases of (2) 500-ton Esco Presses, (1) 150-ton Esco Press, (2) spooling machines and (1) 100-ton Esco Test Bed. Page Wire Rope & Slings is continually expanding their assets to make the company one of the finest rigging shops in Lafayette and now in Shreveport.
Now with 22 full-time employees, Page Wire Rope & Slings, Inc. has expanded their services to testing, certifying and tagging slings for the offshore industry. The purchase of a 440 Engraving Machine makes tagging certified slings a much easier and faster job.
Our hope for the future is that Page Wire Rope & Slings, Inc. will be able to serve our customers with the highest quality wire rope, slings and hardware to make lifting a safe and efficient job.
