Synthetic Rope is a great option as it is lightweight and easy to handle, but doesn’t handle sharp edges like wire rope. Synthetic Rope doesn’t pack as much energy when under load as this causes wire rope to snap in a dangerous manner. However, Synthetic rope is more susceptible to abrasion and should be inspected regularly.
Steel Rope is extremely durable. Steel Rope is heavier than synthetic rope, but can develop rust, and can also develop burrs. It is recommended to use heavy gloves with handling wire rope.
No matter which rope you choose for your needs, we recommend you using all safety measures and necessary precautions according to manufacturing recommendations.
